Job opening: Project Assistant - Rockford, Illinois

We are looking for a motivated project assistant to join our Rockford, Illinois, team. We are a group of talented, trustworthy and skilled people who are passionate about what we do and enjoy providing personalized attention to our clients. Oh, and, we like to have fun.

What you’ll do
Are you self-sufficient? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? And do you function well within a team? If you answered yes to these questions, our project assistant position might be the perfect fit. You should be comfortable managing our office and handling duties for your colleagues. You should be organized and resourceful. You must be able to multi-task and solve problems. These skills are important because you will be asked to provide clerical and secretarial support to the firm’s staff. That means you will do everything from working on projects and helping with proposals to answering the phone and responding to email. This will require that you are a good communicator – verbal and written – and you should display the highest levels of professionalism and courtesy. You will maintain company data and serve as the office point person for administrative policies and procedures, including quality control. You may also assist in accounting and marketing tasks. You must take direction well and be a self-starter. You must be assertive and accommodating.

What it takes
You’ll need an associate’s degree in business administration or appropriate experience. If you are a recent grad or you have up to three years of experience, we’re interested. You should speak and write well – something we take seriously. You should have strong analytical and organizational skills. You must be punctual and pay attention to details. You should be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint. We also should mention that you will be encouraged to stretch professionally – and you will be allowed to fail. Individual failure is met with great team support to achieve project success. We work hard to create an environment in which failure is a positive – an opportunity to learn or solve another problem.

What you’ll get
You will have plenty of opportunities to grow professionally at our progressive, fast-paced firm, which opened in 1973. We offer a competitive salary, and our benefits package includes medical/life/disability insurance, 401K and profit sharing plan, paid time off and an awesome work environment. Our cool and modern industrial-style office is in the heart of downtown Rockford along the Rock River in the renovated Prairie Street Brewhouse
