Job opening: Human Resources Manager

We are looking for a motivated human resources manager to join our team. Travel is limited, but the job requires the human resources manager to spend time in each of our 10 offices in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin. We are a group of talented, trustworthy and skilled people who are passionate about what we do and enjoy providing personalized attention to our clients. Oh, and, we like to have fun.
    
What you’ll do
Are you self-sufficient? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? And do you function well within a team? If you answered yes to these questions, our human resources manager position might be the perfect fit. 

We are looking for someone who will oversee more than recruitment, hiring, and compensation and benefits packages. We want a leader who helps our 170-plus employees understand how they drive value for the firm. We need someone who understands and can coach employees on our culture. You must also be able to help develop employees and understand the importance of confidentiality. As the direct link between management and employees, you will field questions, guide resolutions to work-related problems and help employees align with the firm’s strategic objectives. 

You also will develop, recommend and implement personnel policies to support business objectives and ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal employment laws. The human resources manager is part of an administrative team, which must work together to ensure smooth operation of the firm. You must take direction well and be a self-starter. You must be assertive and accommodating. On top of all that, you also should like to have fun. 

What it takes
You should have a bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. Five years of experience in human resources is required, and certification in PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP strongly preferred. Generalist experience in employee relations, leadership training and development required.

You should speak and write well – something we take seriously. You should have strong analytical and organizational skills.
